Sioda Martin was influenced by her musical upbringing, Irish step dance and her time spent with Barnsley Youth Dance Theatre as a child under Alison Thornton Clarke.

She graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2002 with a BA (Hons) Degree.

 Sioda then went on to work as an apprentice with Kim Brandstrup and Arc in London, before eventually moving to the West Midlands to work with ACE Dance and Music on their production of En-Trance.

Shortly after, Sioda joined Motionhouse Dance Theatre and worked with them for three years, on various site specific works, whilst also touring in their larger scale shows, 'Perfect' and 'Driven'.

Since leaving Motionhouse, Sioda has been teaching and performing, working with Assault events in N. Ireland on an ongoing dance theatre project, Keiradance, a fusion of Contemporary and Irish dance and music, Yael Flexer and Bedlham Dance Co. Mobius Dance Theatre, Anjali Dance Co. and has now joined Nikky Smedley on this magical journey of The Tell Woman.
